Dr. Erica L. Scheller, DDS, PhD, is a recipient of this year’s Transcend Initiative Grant – a grant that is given to WashU Faculty for their collaborative efforts across WashU schools. Dr. Scheller received this award along with co-leader, Dr. Srikanth Singamaneni, PhD, of the McKelvey School of Engineering for the Digital Organoid Initiative (DOI) which seeks to develop lab-grown human tissue (organoids) with digital technologies to speed up treatment testing without the sole reliance on animal testing and increase the advancement of new medications. This $450,000 grant spread over the span of 3-years will hopefully change medicine as we see it today! Congratulations, Dr. Scheller!
