Erica L. Scheller, DDS, PhD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Bone & Mineral Diseases

The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) released the 2026 Esteemed Awardees and has named Erica L. Scheller, DDS, PhD, as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 Fuller Albright Award. Named after Dr. Fuller Albright, a pioneer in parathyroid and osteoporosis research, this award recognizes scientific achievement by an investigator relatively early in their career. Dr. Scheller serves as a Principal Investigator and Associate Professor within the Division of Bone and Mineral Diseases and is the Executive Director of the Center of Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Scheller expressed gratitude to be a part of such a wonderful community. “I’m very proud to join this esteemed lineage of Fuller Albright awardees – many of which have inspired our work in the lab and in my career,” she said. “We look forward to continuing to elucidate the foundational mechanisms regulating interactions between the nervous system and the skeleton, and the implications across diseases like diabetes, cachexia, and arthritis.”

The Esteemed Awards are ASBMR’s highest level of recognition for groundbreaking contributions to the advancement of bone, mineral, and musculoskeletal health and will be formally presented this October during the ASBMR Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.

The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) is the leading professional, scientific and medical society established to bring together clinical and experimental scientists involved in the study of bone, mineral and musculoskeletal research.
