Mohamed Hassan Receives NIH K99 Grant
Dr. Mohamed Hassan, Ph.D., M.Sc., B.D.S., has received a K99 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). The award will support his research project, “Mechanisms of accelerated regeneration in neural crest-derived bone.”
Hassan’s research focuses on understanding why certain craniofacial bones heal faster than other bones. The project could provide important insights into the biological mechanisms that promote bone regeneration and may help advance new approaches to improving bone healing.
The K99 award is an important milestone in Hassan’s development as an independent researcher and recognizes his contributions to craniofacial and regenerative biology.
